The website currency. Obtained by donating to fund server infrastructure — or by trading in-game gold and materials with other players on the official Marketplace.
Warmane's welfare system. Log in, play the game, and earn free points every 24 hours — spendable in the Point Shop for non-heroic gear up to item level 239.
A single $10 donation grants permanent Premium status. No subscription. No recurring charges. Ever.
Sold an Icecrown Citadel BoE? Cornered the Saronite market? Post it on the Marketplace and trade it for Coins with other players. Then spend those Coins on a faction change, a transmog, or a fresh character slot. Coins flow both ways — you never have to spend a cent to enjoy every donor perk.
Warmane accepts donations through PaymentWall (credit card, bank transfer, Paysafecard, gift cards). PayPal is not supported. All donations are final and fund server hosting, development and GM operations.

Yes. 100%. Download the 3.3.5a client, create an account, play forever. Donations are purely optional and fund infrastructure.
On Icecrown and Onyxia, donors can purchase gear up to certain item-level caps — but the vast majority of BiS gear must still be raided. On Lordaeron, Coin-purchased gear is disabled entirely. And the Activity Points system gives free players equivalent gear for just logging in.
New to private servers or short on time? → Icecrown. Want the pure classic grind? → Lordaeron. Want to experience WoW's full story unfolding live? → Onyxia. Just want to PvP? → Blackrock.
2-step authentication, password hashing, and an active security team. Don't share your login, enable 2FA, and you're safer here than on most modern MMOs.
Not currently — each realm has its own economy and rule-set. Announcements will be made if this ever changes.
The standard World of Warcraft 3.3.5a client. It connects to all four realms — including the progressive Onyxia, regardless of expansion phase.

Icecrown x7 XP / x3 gold & rep. Lordaeron x1 Blizzlike. Onyxia x5 (1–70) and x3 (70–80). Blackrock is instant 80. Pick your pain level before you commit 40 hours to a leveler.
A single $10 donation grants permanent Premium: no login queue, Marketplace access, coin gifting, DK creation without lvl-55 prereq, and exemption from yearly character cleanup. Not a subscription.
Lordaeron: all utility perks apply; coin-shop perks are restricted.
All donations go through PaymentWall (credit card, bank transfer, Paysafecard, gift cards). Any "WTS coins via PayPal" offer in-game or on the forum is a scam — and bannable.
Lifetime totals of $100 / $250 / $500 / $1000 unlock permanent +3% / +5% / +8% / +10% bonus coins on every future donation. Your first $10 gets you Premium, with no bonus yet.
Coins you earn by selling gold/items on the Marketplace can't be spent anywhere for 72 hrs. You also need Premium to sell. Plan accordingly if you're timing a Services purchase.
Only accidental Coin-shop purchases reported within 24 hours can be reversed. Point shop, Marketplace trades, and Services (transfer, faction change, etc.) are all non-refundable. Chargebacks = permanent IP ban.
On Lordaeron, coins cannot buy level boosts, heirlooms, profession boosts, realm transfers, or character renames. Coin gear is gated behind tier prerequisites and priced higher. This is by design — the realm stays pure.
On the progressive realm, the coin & point shops only sell items up to the current content tier. Pre-Ulduar you couldn't buy Ulduar-tier gear with coins. Vendors unlock automatically as phases advance.

The "welfare" Point Shop requires at least one character on your account with 1,000+ achievement points. Below that threshold you earn zero daily points. Grind achievements before grinding points.
Onyxia's own achievements don't count toward the threshold.
Maximum item level obtainable via Point Shop on WotLK realms is 239. No Heroic raid versions, no Wrathful Gladiator gear. If you want BiS, you raid for it (or progress phases on Onyxia).
Rate scales with your top character's achievement points (0.3 @ 1k → 1.0 @ 8k), PLUS a +0.5 Good Standing bonus if you haven't been banned in 365 days. One ban strips that bonus for a full year.
Since September 2023, every login from a new IP/browser triggers a 2FA code check. Without 2FA set up, support will not restore deleted chars, stolen gold, or stolen guilds if your account gets hijacked. Set it up on day one.
Google Authenticator handles 5–10+ accounts with 30-sec rotating codes (email 2FA rotates every 5 min). Back up your secret key on paper — lose the app AND the key and you may lose the account permanently.
Sharing your password with a sibling or friend violates TOS. If they steal, trade, or trash your account, staff will not help. Selling, trading or gifting the whole account = permanent ban on all accounts at your IP.
Scammers send mails labeled "Anniversary Gift" or "Warmane Team" as Cash On Delivery. Clicking Accept sends your gold to them and gives you a worthless item. Always hover — if you see a gold price, Return the mail. Warmane staff never send CODs.
Merely having a cheat tool running while logged in — even if you never use it — flags you. Sentinel bans cannot be appealed. Addons, multiboxing, and model-swap patches do not flag you. GM bans (non-Sentinel) can be appealed once via the website.
Website tickets handle 2FA, unauthorized changes, ban appeals, and account access. They will NOT handle: bugs (→ Bugtracker), hackers/scammers (→ in-game ticket), loot disputes, gift mistakes, wrong-account donations, or late undeletes. File in the wrong place and your ticket is deleted.
Rolling Need for off-spec/transmog/DE, Master Looter hijacking, mid-raid rule changes — all bannable. First offense in current content = 60-day ban. File an in-game ticket with unedited screenshots. Staff won't refund your loot, but they will suspend the ninja.
Every Feb–Mar, every piece of gold on Icecrown / Lordaeron / Blackrock gets cut in half — bags, bank, guild bank, mailbox, AH listings. Onyxia is exempt. Before the announced date, dump gold into mats/consumables.
Alongside the squish: characters unplayed ~12 months lose their name; levels 1–50 unplayed ~7 months are deleted. A deleted GM character dissolves the guild. Premium accounts are exempt from character removal.
Cross-realm transfer costs 30 coins/points. Max-level chars may carry up to 20 000g; sub-80 transfers are free but carry 0g. Guild, guild bank, mail, and active auctions do NOT transfer. Transfers are often disabled around phase launches.
You can transfer to Blackrock but never from it.
Premium covers your characters, not your guild. An inactive GM can forfeit the whole guild in cleanups. Dethrone rules: GM inactive 90+ days (60+ on Onyxia) + requester rank 2–4 + Head-GM ticket.
Instant 80, full class-template gear, both professions at 450/450, free Relentless PvP set, free faction change (costs 0 coins), transmog via Scroll of Deception, 3v3 Solo Queue, arena spectator NPC, and a custom Shadowmourne questline for War/DK/Pala.
Edit Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf → set realmlist logon.warmane.com. That's it — you pick the realm at char-select. Can't save? Un-tick Read-only in file Properties. "Failed to apply patch" usually means you logged in with email instead of username.
Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) runs the 3.3.5 client via CrossOver or Whisky. Intel macOS 12+ has its own guide (incl. eGPU). Arch / CachyOS Linux is documented too. No native client — but the community paths are well-trodden.
On Icecrown and Onyxia you can slow leveling below the multiplied rate — useful if you want to quest more deliberately or stay in a bracket.
Warmane's Mists of Pandaria realm was decommissioned. Former players got an instant max-level boost for Onyxia + a full refund of coins earned or spent on Frostwolf during 2025. MoP is no longer available on Warmane.
Warmane doesn't run a public test realm before Onyxia phase launches (Naxx didn't have one; Ulduar followed the same pattern). Practice fights on Icecrown first if you want to prep.
Since early 2025, leaving an arena team saves your W/L + personal rating and rejoining restores them. Any team member — not just the leader — can invite. 3v3 Solo Queue is its own separate bracket.
To get end-of-season rewards: personal rating within 150 of team rating, played ≥70 % of team games, and 2000+ for 3v3 Gladiator. Arena points wipe at season end; honor carries over. Win-trading = disqualification + possible bans.
Official rules state multiboxing "cannot get you flagged." Use Google Authenticator for multiple accounts. Just don't sell gold or services for real money — that's still bannable on any account.
Designed as hardcore Blizzlike — RDF is disabled, heirlooms don't exist, Point Shop is absent, and legendaries are quest-only. Expect LFG chat groups and long queues. This is a feature, not an oversight.
Faction change costs 30 coins on Icecrown & Onyxia, is 0 coins (free) on Blackrock, and is disabled entirely on Lordaeron. Onyxia restricts it during phase transitions. Irreversible once you pick a new race.
Website account panel has a "Restore" page. You get 48 hours to undelete a character, and only one undelete per 7 days. Miss the window and support cannot help — this is where 2FA saves you.
Advertising Warmane coins for real money in global/trade chat bypasses the official Marketplace — it's always a scam. Suspicious links (fake facebook.ru, etc.), GM impersonators, and "free coins" offers are all reportable via in-game ticket only, not forum threads.
Any email provider is accepted for the account email (the old Gmail-only restriction was lifted in 2023), but many providers aggressively spam-filter Warmane's mail. Check spam first if your code never arrives. Don't re-request — subsequent codes expire the previous one.

The WotLK Point Shop explicitly excludes Wrathful Gladiator gear and Heroic raid versions. Coin shop tops out at ilvl 239. Blackrock just hands you a Relentless PvP set for free — if that's your target, play there.
Icecrown's sub-forum has one community "Some tips" sticky covering scams, ganking, enchants and gold farming. Blackrock has 2 stickies (Shadowmourne + custom features). Lordaeron has none. Posting questions already covered there can earn an infraction.
